DAT – CON contributed to a Frontex and Bulgarian Border Police pilot project, testing advanced unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for enhanced border surveillance. Covering 8,100 km² of border area, the project demonstrated how innovative technologies can improve operational efficiency, flexibility, and situational awareness.

Operational Highlights:
- During the mission, DAT – CON deployed its Mobile Command Office, ADS Vehicle, and Naval Trailer with integrated radar, providing a centralized coordination hub for all teams in the field.
- The system enabled real-time intelligence sharing, rapid target assignment, and seamless coordination between UAV teams, ensuring smooth operations across complex and dynamic border areas.
- The integrated GIS platform was highlighted for its role in connecting all operational assets, facilitating fast target transfer between drones and VBAT systems, and providing a comprehensive operational picture.
- DAT – CON’s solution was praised by Frontex and local teams for maximizing interoperability, enabling integration with multiple systems, and supporting open protocols that avoid vendor lock-in.
Impact and Recognition:
- The mobile command center allowed teams to communicate and collaborate efficiently, even under challenging conditions.
- The GIS platform accelerated operational decision-making and improved situational awareness, enhancing both safety and mission effectiveness.
- DAT – CON’s technology demonstrated resilience and reliability, with minimal support required during two months of continuous field operations.
DAT – CON is proud to have contributed to this advanced pilot project, reinforcing its role as a technological partner in developing smarter, faster, and more flexible solutions for European border security.
